Super Mario

super_mario_galaxy.jpgOne of my recent purchase was something to keep me entertained during this snow-like weather we’re having today. Roads are expected to be slippery and not only that… I’m sick and I wanna stay in bed all day. So Milky mentioned me about Super Mario Galaxy and Joey played a demo of it in the GameStop stores. It looked fun but I didn’t give my hopes up till I actually played it for sure. Let me tell you this game is really unique. The controls are cool and it’s actually fun and adventurous. I still have a long way to go (right now I only have 30 stars =/) but I’m pretty sure there is more to go. The controls were a bit hard to get used to at first, but once you get your starts, you’ll get used to all of the controls.

Now if I can only find my Nintendo DS ac adapter to play my zelda game… GRRRRRR

facebook apps!

So yea… it’s really kinda making me cranky. I’m viewing one of my friend’s apps and it takes me like 20 fucking minutes to scroll down to the wall so I can say hey/wassup. Not only that, yea this laptop I’m on sucks major balls, but it takes a while for everything to load as well. And what kind of apps are they? “Am I Hot or Not?”, “October Fest! Send me beer!”, “[Insert Sport Team] Fan Application”! I mean dear gosh! I don’t mind one or two apps but still… why do people make it like a huge fucking list down! And some apps are the same! For example, the top friend displays the people you are close too. Then there is the Entourage app… which displays again your TOP PEOPLE!!!! See my gist here people? Unless you have 2,000 friends and ALL of them are your closest buddies/boyfriend/girlfriend… why have two fucking top people thing?

I’ll admit, I was one of those “freaks” but once I realize how long it took to get to my wall (with some help from Ashley) I went though my apps and delete 95% of them! Besides the apps that is original to Facebook (groups, pictures, etc.), I only have 4 apps… all which is unique in some weird way.

Before you call me a hypocrite cause I have apps…. let me define my theory of Facebook apps:

  1. Thou shall not have two applications that are exactly alike but with different names
  2. Thou shall make sure to put on useful applications on thou Facebook (Do people really care if they send you an image of beer or if your friends rank you as hot or not… even though if they ARE your friends they will tell you if you are… or not)
  3. Thou shall move applications around to cut the time to the bottom page in half (did you know that you can move some apps to the side of the left of your profile?
  4. If an app hasn’t been used in over a month, it is time to say good bye to thee (dude it’s just taking up space… why the fuck is is it there?)

So this is my random rant about facebook apps… the jist of it… and the fact that they are soo annoying it’s not even funny. Feel free to text/comment this blog/write on my wall any hate letters or any praises.

So anyone who knows me knows that one of my favorite bands is Bayside. In less than 2 weeks I’ll be going to see them. Most of the opening bands I really don’t care for. The one band that is touring with them is The Sleeping. In the beginning when I first heard of them, I remember Niccki and Milky trashing them. I really didn’t give them a chance you can say. Then I was reading the soundtrack to Guitar Hero III and they mentioned the Sleeping. It’s sad… after that I said to myself, “Why don’t I listen to that one song to see what is special?” Sure enough I heard. They’re actually not that bad of a band. They had a catchy beat and the guitarist Cameron Keym sounds like he got some kind of skills. I will admit Douglas’ vocals threw me off, but sooner or later I grew on it. I really can not say that they are the most awesome band out there… but they totally now earn my respect now. Not only that I can now jam out to two bands at this concert… The Stone Pony December 8th!!!!!

To listen to The Sleeping check out their PureVolume or their MySpace account…. and while I’m throwing out links… check this band out as well =D

New York City… oh what a trip

Westifer and myself

Due to the location where we are… We can just hop on a train to go to NYC for a day. Ever since Wes and I started dating, we have. Our first one to the city was very romantic and memorable. On December 23, 2006 we went to NYC. We were able to visit lots of shopping plaza, go to his Sam Ash store so he can just sit there and play his guitars, and dine @ Hard Rock Cafe. Also we stopped at Rockefeller Plaza to see the huge tree. Now that we think about that trip… it is just a tree. Also near the tree on a building, there are snowflake lights. Once in a while they’ll blink in sequence to some random holiday show. People stop to watch it and go in awe. Wes and I however, are like “It’s just light” and try to find the quickest way out of the crowd. Since then, we went back in January with his best friend, Frank. And then after taking a break, we went back in the summer to go shopping in the village area as well.

NYC from HobokenEvery time Wes talks about going back, I always want to save a lot of money to spend there. I fear now I can’t due to bills, gas (WTF? $2.93 a gallon now!), and the fact that I am saving up for a laptop (better one) of my own. I am guaranteed though to spend at least $19 not including gas… Parking in Hoboken is $16 in the garage and the PATH train is $3 both ways. Now me having my girly-side, I have to go shopping there. Of course there are the usual stores we can find in our local malls like Macy’s, Old Navy, GAP, but there are some special stores in the city like the Hello Kitty store in the Manhattan Mall… there is also the Nintendo World store in Rockefeller Plaza. Not to mention when you go to NYC you gotta eat there. And believe me it isn’t cheap if you don’t wanna go to McDonald’s/Wendy’s/Taco Bell.

However, if I do save up some money to go there, these are the places I would like to stop by again:

  • Nintendo World (sorry I’m a gamer geek sometimes…)
  • Inside Rockefeller Plaza to look at the stores inside
  • Empire Building and hopefully go inside
  • Central Park
  • Toys R Us (it is kinda entertaining)

Eh hopefully we can go soon…

Is it over yet?

Christmas is comming up… I can’t believe it! It just seems like yesterday I was attending Ashley’s and John’s Halloween party and now… all of our decortations are up and the rush is here. That’s right… the rush where everyone shops and shops for those deals at the Gap or Janie and Jack and right after spending hundreds of dollars, they come to us for a cup of coffee. I know it’s good busines and I know it’s expected for the holidays but I’m sick and tired of it. I also feel that we are short handed on help at times… there has been days where I am by myself with a new barista who can’t find that darn latte button or the barista who just mumbles to himself instead of telling me what I need to make. So lately I have been comming home with head aches and all. But oh well… when will it end?

why did I create this blog?

•November 25, 2007 • Leave a Comment

So all of you are wondering… why did Megs create a blog? Why the “sudden urge”? Well I always wanted to blog for a long time. Infact, I have been a blogger since 2000. I have created multiple domains and multiple blogs. The only thing different now then back then is that I have hidden my blogs from my friends. Now, I open it up JUST for my friends really… MySpace blog has been a “thing” for me. It’s popular and all… but I felt like I had no control as if I had my own blog on a reliable server. So that’s why I started this blog… although in the next couple of months or two I will have my own server/domain and the blog will be on my own server [geek talk]. The only reason why it’s not on it now is:

1) Main computer has a virus that even I can’t get rid of.
2) I’m currently using a laptop that is dated back in the 90’s and it’s slow and really un-reliable for me to install Photoshop/FTP program/EditPad Pro.

So yes… welcome to a small piece of me.
